Add discard option to approval policy

In case of our Ansible runs, we have to manually confirm tracked runs after planning phase. This makes sense except for the case, when there are 0 changes detected - and we would like to automatically discard such runs. However, the only available option is reject, which leaves stack in a failed state.

    Thanks for raising this, and to everyone who upvoted. It's been open for a while without gaining much upvotes, so I’m closing it for now while we focus on higher-priority work.

    It's not gone for good. If demand grows or priorities shift, we may revisit. If it still matters to you, leave a comment with your use case so we can gauge interest.

    I’m afraid that the stack would still be red if the run were to be discarded.

    I’m thinking of an alternative arrangement that might do what you want. What if we gave you the ability to skip the run but from the plan policy instead?

      We usually focus on runs in failed state, so red color of discarded state is not really an issue for us (since it is a different state reported by Spacelift). But sure, what you proposed would also work (although, I would name it skip the tracked run, to make it a little bit clearer)
