Add explicit version to plugin

Feature Requests

As a user of the plugin system,
I want to update plugins to new versions seamlessly (without deleting/reinstalling) and specify versions in my Tofu provider configuration,
So that I can manage dependencies efficiently, ensure compatibility, and reduce manual overhead.

    Thanks for bringing it up @Thibaut Etienne . While you can use Terraform or OpenTofu to manage installed plugins, the only way to update a plugin is to delete the plugin's installation and install the updated template.

    I understand that this is not ideal, but based on what I was told it’s a non-trivial given the current implementation. In order to make sure we prioritize the most impactful changes I am going to open your FR to community voting to gauge overall interest in improving this experience.

      Thx. The workaround you suggested is the whole point of this FR yes. I would like to ease this. The latest Trivy plugin outage clearly highlight this pain point.
