Allow "Day-2" Operations on EC2 resources

Looking for some way or feature to perform day 2 operations on a resource, such as install software, or shutdown or reboot a host. Since Spacelift already has API access to the environment, it would be easy enough for Spacelift to produce even the status to the UI if the given EC2 or other VM type resource is running/shutdown/rebooting and the ability to perform these quick actions from the menu.
