Allow "Day-2" Operations on EC2 resources
Looking for some way or feature to perform day 2 operations on a resource, such as install software, or shutdown or reboot a host. Since Spacelift already has API access to the environment, it would be easy enough for Spacelift to produce even the status to the UI if the given EC2 or other VM type resource is running/shutdown/rebooting and the ability to perform these quick actions from the menu.

Closing this as written — demand has stayed low, and Spacelift isn’t the right place for a general start/stop/reboot console on managed VMs.
That said: a better path for day-2 style operations is coming with Flows in the next few weeks. That should cover a lot of what people want here without bolting ops buttons onto the stack/resources UI. We’ll revisit if Flows doesn’t cover your case — feel free to comment with the specific workflow.

Are you able to expand on what Flows is/will provide? I believe that we had a demonstration early on but it was a separate product and sku which would require another purchase. Is that still the case?

It’s being fully integrated with the product and it’s evolved quite a bit as a full workflow system. There is no purchase for flows it will be part of the platform you buy. Just wait a few more days and it will show up in the soft launch (unless you have a contract which states no AI use). Feel free to email me (jonahk) with questions or message on slack.

Well that’s great news! Will this be available in the selfhosted install of Spacelift as well as we are an all air-gapped install.
