allow the github integration to send Commit Statuses rather than Check Runs

This is a subtle difference, but we would prefer clicking the check(in the commit summary) take us directly to the spacelift run rather than a github page and having to click through to the run from the check run.

    I hear you, it’s a pointless extra click.

    Sadly the Commit Statuses are pretty much deprecated at this point and only left for legacy reasons. We discussed that with GitHub developer support a few years back and were strongly discouraged from using these, hence our migration to Run Checks, in 2022 if the memory serves me right.

    We’ve since passed the feedback to GitHub multiple times that exposing a direct link for Run Checks would be beneficial to our users, but so far it’s fallen on deaf ears.

    We’re in a bit of a pickle - we don’t want to depend a long deprecated API but we also don’t want to spare our users pointless clicks. That said, it’s something best owned by GitHub’s Product Management rather than us. I’d be grateful if you could send that feedback directly to them, maybe they finally listen if there are enough voices? 🤞
