Custom banner for posting messages to internal users

Thanks for the suggestion, and sorry for the delay.
We're closing this one. Spacelift isn't designed to be an internal messaging platform, and adding in-app banners would push user expectations in that direction, which isn't a role we want the product to take on.
Appreciate the input. Closing for now, but open to revisiting if the underlying need evolves into something more Spacelift-specific (e.g. tied to run/stack state rather than general comms).

I’d like to chime in here.. I have been looking for an option to distinguish between our staging and production spacelift instances. Currently this is seen in the bottom left part of UI but it’s tiny.. it shows
config.json/account_name. My personal trick is to diff staging and production UIs by colour modes, but that’s a personal setting and this needs to be clear to all users on first sight.I understand your intention not to turn spacelift into messaging platform, that’s what we’re not expecting. I am actually suggesting to add three banner modes :]
1] permanent [e.g. “staging|production ” or “reach out to #help-spacelift” for help]
2] timed [e.g. “deployment freeze coming on MMDD“ which expires on MMDD+1]
3] scheduled [e.g. repetitive messages shown every Tuesday “deployment day, don’t breathe“]
Also, colouring option [e.g. different colours across envs and red colour for heads up] would be neat.
Thanks a lot for considering this feature, it would be highly appreciated!

Hey! Appreciate the request—curious what job the banner is really doing. Are you hoping to prevent changes during a window? Or just nudge users to reach out in certain ways? Asking because Spacelift has some powerful tools (like stack locks, approval policies, and even notifications) that can actually enforce behavior—not just inform it. Let’s dig into the outcome you’re after and see if we can help you get there with what’s already built.
