Manually Creating Query Parameters for Filtering Specific Criteria

Client requested the ability to manually create query parameters for filtering stacks based on specific criteria, which would allow them to have more control over how they sort and view their data within Spacelift. Currently, they are looking for a way to construct URL parameters that would enable them to filter stacks in a more customizable way, especially for use cases such as embedding queries into dashboards or automating filtering workflows.

    This should be achievable through the Spacelift MCP that we recently released.

    Hi Trevor! Thanks for this request. We'd love to understand the workflow you're trying to enable here. Could you walk us through what you'd do differently if this filtering capability existed? Like, from start to finish - what would your ideal workflow look like? A few specific questions: - What kind of dashboards are you looking to embed these into? - Who would be using these filtered views and for what purpose? - What happens after someone sees the filtered stacks - what action do they typically take next? Are you thinking of something like Datadog's template variables - where you can create dynamic dashboards with dropdowns to switch between different filters (like $environment, $service, etc.)? Or is this more about being able to construct and share specific filtered URLs? Also, are there other tools you've used that handle this type of filtering particularly well? Would love to see examples of what "done right" looks like for your use case. This will help us understand whether you need dynamic template-variable style filtering, bookmarkable filtered URLs, or something else entirely.
