Optionally hide features of the tool
We would like the ability to hide certain areas of the tool for users. For instance, cloud integrations, require Graph permissions to create the app registration in Azure, and most users dont have that access. These users have been directed to use client secret’s via environment variables to deploy to Azure, but we’d like to hide that area outright so that it’s not misleading for users.
Also the service now integration that’s recently been added, as we’re not going to use it in this way, it would be good to hide this as well.
In short, a customisable viewing experience for users who are not admins.

James, just to clarify - how would you want this to work in an ideal scenario?
Would a root admin define a default menu view? Would it apply to everyone, or just some users? If the latter then how would you want to assign the default to a given user? Would different users have different defaults? Would the users still be able to override the default?
So many questions, I know. But I want to make sure we’re on the same page.

Hey Marcin.
I guess in its basic form I viewed this as a “users” view and an “admins” view. Admin’s can define a view for all users, to simplify onboarding users to the tool. Admin’s get all resources, as admins should be experienced in the tool regardless.

@Collins, James, in the personal settings, there is an option for “Sidebar customization” in there, you can hide the “Service Now” tab. As for hiding things for specific users, I need to take it to team, will let you know :)

@Collins, James, we talked in the team. We might be doing some navigation redesign in the future, and that could be a part of that, but to be honest, it’s not in the very near future. I would suggest for now instructing your users how to hide parts of the navigation in the personal settings, hope it will help.
