SSM + CloudWatch agent baked into EC2 Worker AMI or module


Please provide an option to install and configure the AWS SSM and CloudWatch agent out of the box in the official EC2 worker AMI or Terraform module. Ideally this includes a sane default for disk metrics and a sample alarm (or Terraform snippets) so teams get proactive signals without bespoke wiring.

Problem
We run Spacelift private workers on EC2 via the Spacelift module. We’ve hit a few cases where the worker root disk fills up with cache and other ephemeral data. We don’t want to just increase disk size because the data is not critical. Today we added CloudWatch disk space alarms and page on low free space, then we drain and recycle instances via the ASG. It works, but it’s extra setup.
