Upcoming GitLab commit status change
We’d like to inform you about a change which will affect how we report the commit status to GitLab about commits which were ignored by a push policy.
Currently we allow to specify a "notify { ignore }" rule in order to send a status report to GitLab even if a change was ignored on the Spacelift side. Ideally, we would mark the pipeline as skipped like we do for GitHub, but GitLab does not support a "skipped" state so we send a "cancelled" state instead. This can cause issues for merge requests that require all pipelines to have successfully finished.
To further improve the usability of the "notify" rule we’re rolling out a change on November 27th which will instead send a "success" state for GitLab commits which have the "notify" rule result in "true" and were ignored by the push policy.
