Today is Spacelift's August 2024 Product Launch🚀
As part of our August 2024 Product Launch, we are happy to announce some exciting new features in Spacelift to help you:
Manage your infrastructure at scale
Accelerate developer velocity
Get started with OpenTofu or migrate entirely
Deliver secure, cost-effective, and resilient infrastructure…fast
Today we’re announcing:
- The Dashboard — for greater visibility into your infrastructure and what’s happening in your Spacelift account.
- The Kubernetes Operator Beta — to increase developer velocity and reduce time to market by making it possible to deploy infrastructure and applications in a single workflow.
- Spacelift for OpenTofu 1.8 — to make the transition to the latest version of OpenTofu seamless.
The Dashboard is a customizable homepage that gives you an at-a-glance overview of your account and the status of your infrastructure. You can see everything happening in Spacelift from a single pane of glass. To learn more about the new dashboard, check out our documentation here.
The Kubernetes Operator enables developers to quickly provision, configure, and manage their infrastructure without ever having to leave Kubernetes. With the operator, they can:
Create and update Stacks
Create/pull status updates for runs
Create and update Spaces
Create and update Contexts
Create and update policies
The Kubernetes Operator is currently in open Beta, and we’re actively collecting feedback. If you’d like to learn more or want to try it, check out the documentation here.
OpenTofu 1.8 offers features that developers have been requesting for years, including:
The ability to use variables and locals in terraform blocks and module sources and versions
Support for the .tofu file extension
Provider mocking and resource overrides
If you’d like to use OpenTofu 1.8, migration is seamless. You can migrate all of their stacks from Terraform to OpenTofu by simply swapping one for the other in the “Choose Vendor” screen. To learn more about OpenTofu 1.8 and how to use it with Spacelift, check out our blog covering the 1.8 release.
As always, we’re eager to hear your feedback. Don’t hesitate to reach out with your thoughts, suggestions, or any questions you have regarding these new features.
